THE SECOND (Or how it starts anyway…)

There it was: the first Christmas song on the radio !

The first Christmas song on the radio was always a special moment like the first snow or that particular moment when you thought “It is spring now”. She was always amazed at how that first Christmas song would put her in this very particular Christmas mood. The four Advent Sundays, first one candle, then two, then three, then four. The gingerbread and fruit cake that was only baked and eaten in the Christmas season, the candles, the darkness in the afternoons, the quieting of nature.

But this Christmas would be different. Possibly quite different. This Christmas she would be many thousand miles away from her home.

It all had happened by chance (if there is such a thing as chance, she thought to herself). Earlier this year, on a frustrating and tiring afternoon she took a break from whatever frustrating and tiring task she was pursuing at that moment and listlessly started to surf the internet. And then she stumbled over this page, a blog to be precise. She started reading….and kept reading….and hours later she was still reading. And all of a sudden she was alive, very alive. These people on this board, they were like her. It wasn’t just the spanking bit, she hadn’t thought about that in many years. She loved how smart and funny and kind they were, it was the banter and the laughter and the discussions, and the help when someone had a question. And then there were these wonderful stories by Alyx on the site that was called Alyxfic.

Well, that was all ten months ago. Back then she had delurked on the board and participated fully, she had found friends, had had a lot of fun and received a lot of help.

And then three months ago it had happened: a conversation had led to another and had led to her becoming a brat of a wonderful Top, a kind and generous and “helpful” board member. And she had learned what “it” was all about and she experienced how much she was helped.

And now it’s Christmas Day, 6:30 p.m. and she has barely begun to write what she had wanted to write… . So in true brat fashion she concludes this beginning right now and says

THANK YE ALL FOR BEING THERE !!!!
