Third story in Cassie & Nicky series published

It took awhile, but the third story in the Cassie & Nicky series is finally up on Amazon. You can find it here: Trouble in Paradise. For some reason (possibly the cover *g*) it’s been filtered as an adult title. So you might have to click on a button to show adult titles before you can see it. πŸ™‚

Thanks, as always, for your support.

Oh my! I might just put the book as my desktop. I could stare at it for hours.
Seriously, Alyx. This is my favorite story of yours. I am glad to have the chance to own it. I’ve always wondered how you came up with cow-tipping for a book in Hawaii? I could see it in Oklahoma or Wyoming or something….but Hawaii?

    • Alyx says:

Hey, Micah, I thought you’d appreciate that cover. πŸ˜€ Unfortunately I’m going to have to change it! You know that issue CJ mentioned? It is due to an adult content filter that Amazon is putting on me. And that, as you probably know, is the kiss of death to a story/book on Amazon. The descriptions/disclaimer isn’t any different from the first two books, so I have to conclude it’s the cover. 😦

I’m surprised and pleased it’s your favorite story, though. It’s the one I was least pleased with when I first came out with all the Cassie and Nicky stories. Recently I appreciate it more, though. *g* And as for the cow-tipping…it’s something that fascinated me at one point. I wouldn’t want to be so mean today, of course. But back then, I was curious as to whether it was possible! πŸ˜€

The same thing happened to “The Babysitter”. Amazon decided after it had already been out for a couple of weeks that the title might relate to porn. I was working with Blushing Books and they changed it to “Abby’s Bodyguard” on Amazon but kept it as “The Babysitter” on their site. It’s a little confusing but it made a difference in the number of people viewing the book.
Right now – I’m still seeing the original cover. I wonder if I keep it since I bought it before it’s changed. I hope so as it’s nice and sexy.

        • Alyx says:

Yeah, I heard anything relating to kids (like your title) they were especially strict about. But I can’t find your book now anywhere on Amazon! 😦 I bought it already so don’t need it, but did you take it down??

          • Micah says:

At some point, Amazon took it down. I was surprised at first but then, the number of ebooks that would be there if they didn’t, would be staggering. It was a couple of years before they did so. It is still on Blushing Books site at the moment.

            • Alyx says:

Geez, I didn’t even think of that! *facepalm* Of course they wouldn’t keep the stock up forever. Damn, that means I really do have to start selling from my own website at some point! :p

  2. cj says:

Hey Alyx I am having a devil of a time finding your book. I can see porn items so don’t think it is adult content issue. Lol but book doesn’t come up by your name or title. Any ideas?

    • cj says:

Got it. Only through your link though. Big Grin

      • Alyx says:

Yeah, it’s only through my link that it works, I’m afraid. It IS an adult content issue, and so I’m going to re-do my cover. Well, to be honest Mil re-did the cover, as she’s an expert with Photoshop. *g* It’s a shame to lose that nice bum, but I can’t afford to have my story hidden like that!

Thanks for all your support, CJ. It means a lot. *hugs* πŸ™‚

  3. Ash says:

Where do you get the covers from, Alyx? Do you have someone who makes them for you?
I haven’t forgotten about writing a blogpost about your stories. πŸ™‚ I still want to spread the word even if most of my followers probably read your blog over mine. πŸ˜›

    • Alyx says:

I make my own covers, Ash. I pay for royalty-free photos/pics and then use Photoshop to manipulate them (change hair color, crop, add title and author, etc.). I know there are professional graphic designers who could do a better job, however I can’t afford to pay for that! It’s bad enough that I had to sell like 17 copies of my first story just to pay for the cover photo. *LOL*

Don’t worry about your blog post. Just get better and take care of whatever work/school stuff you’re supposed to be doing! (Though I do appreciate your willingness to spread the word. You might well have more followers since you probably update your blog a lot more often than I do. πŸ˜€ )

  4. Peach says:

Yay, I’m gonna get one! This story is one of my faves too.
You know when I was in the Big Island, every time I passed a cattle ranch I remembered the cow tipping story. It’s genius! *bg*

    • Alyx says:

*LOL* So you weren’t tempted to try to tip any cows, Peach? πŸ˜‰ Thanks for supporting my efforts, it’s MUCH appreciated! πŸ™‚

  5. Peach says:

Nah, it’s that gorgeous bottom on the cover I’m after!!! πŸ˜‰ Yeah even me wants to slap it a few times. lol.
