The gifts are starting to creep in…

just like a naughty girl sneaking into her Christmas presents! 🙂  Thanks to Micah for a story she says was longer than the 1,000 words, but it was the shortest one she could manage. I told her no one is going to complain. *LOL*

Thanks also to JustBrat, sending her cute poem all the way from South America. I think she did an awesome job considering English is not her first language! But I guess brat-speak is the same the world over, eh? 😉

I created a special section on the Links page, so go check it out and be sure to give our wonderful contributors lots of love for their gifts. Also, be sure to send YOUR gift in soon….Xmas is right around the corner.  santa  I know you don’t want to be on Alyx’s naughty list….Heheheh.   spanka

Hey Alyx? Have you heard of the Coriolis Effect? It’s why toilet water flushes in the opposite direction in the Southern Hemisphere, and why we frown when we’re happy and why we celebrate Christmas in July and not December. That would excuse me from your naughty list, right?

Looking forward to reading Micah and JB’s work!

Mil, I’m afraid your attempt at avoiding a contribution won’t fly. The fact that water drains differently in the different hemispheres is incorrect (which you should know from watching QI!), as Wikipedia states: “Contrary to popular misconception, water rotation in home bathrooms under normal circumstances is not related to the Coriolis effect or to the rotation of the earth, and no consistent difference in rotation direction between toilets in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres can be observed.”

More important, however, is this statement (also from Wikipedia) describing the Coriolis FORCE, which can be applied to objects with overwhelming inertia (i.e., procrastinating brats):

“The acceleration entering the Coriolis force arises from two sources of change in velocity that result from rotation: the first is the change of the velocity of an object in time. The same velocity (in an inertial frame of reference where the normal laws of physics apply) will be seen as different velocities at different times in a rotating frame of reference. The apparent acceleration is proportional to the angular velocity of the reference frame (the rate at which the coordinate axes change direction), and to the component of velocity of the object in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation. This gives a term omegasymbol. The minus sign arises from the traditional definition of the cross product (right hand rule), and from the sign convention for angular velocity vectors.”

That’s a lot of science-speak, but allow me to translate into Top-speak for you:

When a brat is rotated to a 90-degree angle over my knee, the right hand rule comes into play, with a measurable amount of force being applied. This right hand accelerates in direct proportion to the amount of initial inertia, and is repeated at different velocities and angles until the desired effect is achieved.

In other words, you need to come up with a better excuse than that! C’mon, give us a Christmas haiku, at least?

      • Mil says:

*LOL* omg! Where were you when they were writing that boring QI Kinky episode?! :D. Haha! That’s awesome!

*worried about the powerful combo of Alyx having spanking down to an art AND and a science* *gulps* *clears throat* Don’t worry, I’ve got a plan. I was just doing that whole “under promise and over deliver” thing. You know? Like when your parents say “Sorry kids. Things are a bit tight this year… It’s going to be a lean Christmas”, and you say “that’s okay *sniff*”, only to wake on Christmas morning to find the tree bursting and overflowing with mountains of wrapped goodies. *peers at the calender*

  2. Ash says:

Alyx, when is my due date? Is it your time that counts? 😀

    • Alyx says:

It’s always the top’s time that counts! Which, in this case, is to your advantage, Ash. It gives you another half a day to finish your story! Let’s have it by Xmas morning, at least. *stern look*

      • Ash says:

So if Fizzy has a bedtime, it’s still your time that counts? That’s pretty awesome, Alyx. 😀

        • Alyx says:

Is it? All that means is whenever *I* say she should be in bed is when she should be in bed! I think 8:30pm has been our earliest so far, but if she keeps pushing things, it’ll be right after dinner! *growl*

          • Ash says:

I was once sent to bed around that time… 😳 Well actually it was like 8, but I was asked to stand in the corner for thirty minutes and then go straight to bed. *pout*

  3. Ash says:

Umh… Alyx… do you think a story an be too long? I’m almost done, but I’ve got a little over 5000 words so far. 😳 I really didn’t mean for it to be that long. 😦 I’m really not good at writing really short stories.

    • Alyx says:

No worries, Ash, I’m sure no one will complain. Micah’s story obviously went over the limit, and I think we were all the richer for it! My own story is over 2,400 words right now, and it’s only about 3/4 along. But maybe I’ll leave out the spanking scene….that should shorten it quite a bit. 😈

    • Alyx says:

Ash, I meant to tell you, since you’re story’s going to be a novel *g* and since you have your own blog, if you’d like to post it there and send me the link, I will link to it there from my page. I can also put it on a page here….it’s up to you. But I thought it might be easier for you to post it on your own blog (not to mention you can be much more last minute that way *snort*).

  4. Micah says:

Hey Alyx…I really liked the graphic you displayed for our writings and clicked on the site name in the corner. That’s a good place and it’s free! I had wondered how you did the little divider in my story and I found it there as well. Good find!
