At Last…

I passed my final exam with a perfect score, y’all! (Okay, it was open-book, but it was TRICKY. *g*) Anyway, it finally left me with just a tiny window of space, and I jumped on it like a top on a brat’s bedtime! πŸ˜€

So yeah, check out the story page under the Bucket series. It’s just a teeny little chapter, but hey, it’s something. And even though I have another class starting next week, I will try to keep the momentum going and work on one of the stories I’ve had floating around in my mind for awhile….like maybe the Cassie/Nicky story. *g* Maybe.

Thanks for your patience, gang. You guys rock. *fond swats all around*

  1. Ooo! Free fond swats. πŸ˜‰

  2. Jazz says:

Congratulations on your exam! Exams are painful, I have my final exams coming up in about 5 weeks *groan*.

    • Alyx says:

Thanks, Jazz. Mine wasn’t anything compared to what you’ll go through, I’m quite sure. But I hope you’re not going to wait till the last moment to study! *raised brow*

      • Jazz says:

Um… well… I’ve made a study timetable which I have put up on my bedroom wall, I look at it occasionally and think “I should probably be doing that”. Also I have made a mental list of my subjects ordered from the one I need to study the most for to the one I need to study the least for. I’m listening to French music at the moment which sort of counts as studying as my French exam will have an aural section.

  3. Mil says:

Congrats, Alyx, for both your exams and your story! πŸ™‚

  4. Pixie says:

Yay! We love you Alyx! Congrats on the exam πŸ™‚

But teasing about Cassie and Nicky, that really does deserve a swat. Dare I? Hmm maybe not πŸ™‚

    • Alyx says:

Thanks, Pixie! I love you too. πŸ™‚

And no, you dare not. *stern look* I’m sure you’re in enough trouble as it is without adding another top into the mix! *g*

  5. disneydyke says:

My thought exactly, Miss Lynne! Congrats, Your Intellectualness! And awesome you are now writing stories again. πŸ™‚

  6. pao says:

Woot, perfect score! And a story! Awesome possum πŸ˜€
And yes, delurking on your blog, Alyx.

  7. Muddos , dd that’s a really big word ” intellectualness ” . Hurt my feelings lol . Boy Alyx , u mussy real awesome to multi task like that dred. I know I for one am a procrastinator gets me in trouble all the time , what can I say I’m a brat and love it . Don’t get me wrong dd , just messin with ya .

    • Alyx says:

It wasn’t quite the same as taking a real class, Bahamagirl. It was just a non-credit course to learn some new skills. But it did keep me very busy. And yes, it seems to be a truth that Brat = Procrastinator, doesn’t it? πŸ˜€

      • Basketball Girl says:

Non-credit? This was a class for fun? I’m all for elective classes, but isn’t beginning swimming or karate or anything that doesn’t involve a test better?

        • Alyx says:

Hah, what makes you think those kinds of classes don’t involve “tests,” Basketball Girl? I am remembering my childhood YMCA swimming class, where I refused to let go of the counselor, clinging like a fearful barnacle, till finally they gave up on me and parked me at the side of the pool. *shudder* No thanks, PHP is actually less painful, I think! πŸ˜€

        • kiaigrrl says:

Ahem, BG…karate has many tests – both physical and written! But nice try! *giggling*

          • pao says:

Ooh. Didn’t know karate had written tests too :O I’ve always only thought there was the physical. Unless that’s for a higher belt?

          • Basketball Girl says:

They only have tests at college if the instructor isn’t sick on the day of the exam. So no exam in my class πŸ™‚

            • Alyx says:

What, you take karate too, Basketball Girl?? What is it with all of these brats arming themselves! πŸ˜€

              • Basketball Girl says:

I did take karate only as an elective. I prefer sports that involve a ball. And yes I’m well armed, but not with karate skills. Don’t worry, I usually talk my way out of situations, the brat skill of side stepping negatives and turning the words around to be positive comes in handy πŸ™‚ I don’t generally use force, not my style. Plus you have to write it all up and justify your actions and I don’t like paperwork.

              • Amy says:

I seem to be “arming myself” with ballroom dance. I can take anyone down with my great tango abilities.

            • kiaigrrl says:

              LOL! Awesome πŸ˜‰

              • Raine says:

I did take karate in high school as an elective class in my senior year. Indeed, we had to do written tests as well as practical. It was pretty fun though. :3 (but apparently I forgot everything about it once I got into university)

        • Thanatos says:

Everything has tests in one way or another.. Usually 3 types, but sometimes 2 or 1. Physical, emotional or written ones. Karate has them, swimming can have them, colledge classes or even choir classes. I know being in the choir I’m in has provided me with all 3. Who are we to say which ones are harder?

  8. Ash says:

Congrats, Alyx! Lucky being done. πŸ˜€ I’ve got an assignment for my pedagogy class this week. And then I have a Descartes assignment, and no one ever agrees with him anyway. 😦 I wish it was Christmas. I want relaxing times and pressies.

    • Ash says:

Well I can agree with “cogito ergo sum”, but the rest is just depressing.

      • disneydyke says:

Well, you could always say Spinoza is cooler. That’s quite the brat move too. I don’t even agree with cogito ergo sum… Well, I won’t use alyx’ blog for my newfound love for philosophy, although maybe I’m being inspired by Alyx studiousness. πŸ™‚

    • Alyx says:

My philosophy is more “Cogito, ergo doleo” — I think, therefore I am depressed.

Kidding! πŸ˜€ It’s “Rideo, ergo sum.”

      • Ash says:

        I laugh, therefore I am?

But isn’t laughing a bodily function? Meaning if res extensa does not exist, you have been fooled by senses. O_O

Or maybe I am getting this wrong. πŸ˜› My motto is “If you think too much, it’s going to hurt your brain”.

        • Alyx says:

Yes, I laugh, therefore I am. And Ash? Everything is a bodily function. There are things which exist outside the physical, but we only perceive it through the physical. All we are and think and know is a result of nerve impulses firing. IMO, anyway. πŸ˜€

  9. Peach says:

Alyx, congrats on your exam! “Sensei” highly approves you being such a diligent student. πŸ˜‰ *patting your back on her behalf* LOL
    btw, Was your open-book timed?

  10. maryk88 says:

Congrats!! and hey open book tests are tricky πŸ™‚ and yayy! to the new chapter and possibly a Cassie and Nicky!!

  11. Kayla says:

Congrats on your test. Yes open book tests can be made very trick as can multiple choice test. Tricky teachers always messing with your mind. *bg*

    • Alyx says:

Thanks, Kayla. Yes, tricky indeed. But I still prefer them to essay questions, don’t you? πŸ˜‰

      • Kayla says:

That is an iffy one cuz as much as I’m not good at writing, an essay allows you to “show” what you learned and if you are a good BSer you will do fine. I personally will keep myself out of school for as long as I can. It’s just not my thing and I’m not a good BSer….AT ALL *L*. I’ll take the open book tests any day though. Even better if it’s open book and multiple choice I’m all in. I like learning for the sake of being curious and wanting to learn. Forcing me to learn stuff that is mundane or of no relevance or use just to get more money from me is not worth it. *sighs* What ever happened to apprenticeships?

        • Alyx says:

Brats frequently are good BSers….Fizzy gets perfect scores on her essay questions. πŸ˜€ But you and I agree on the school thing. I don’t mind taking classes, but real school? Took me long enough to get out the first time! *g*

  12. quietgirl says:

As long as they are fond swats and not the other kind, I can live with that. Congratulations on your exam! Looking forward to the new story when it is available. πŸ™‚

    • Alyx says:

Thanks, Quietgirl. I hope to work on it little by little….let’s cross our fingers my next class doesn’t take too much time and energy. πŸ™‚

  13. cras says:

Congrats on doing so well! And thanks for the fond swat. I do like that kind. The story is nice too, though I will admit that now I’m going to be impatiently waiting for a possible Cassie/Nicky story to appear. I really like those. πŸ™‚

What do you mean “Brat = Procrastinator”?! That’s an unfair stereotype! *is indignant* (Yes, I know it’s true for me, but that doesn’t mean it’s true for everybody.)

    • Alyx says:

Thank you, Cras. I know how the Cassie/Nicky pairing is a favorite, which is why I will try to finish that next. And stereotypes develop for a reason, don’t they? I’m sure there are non-procrastinator brats around….I just haven’t met one yet. *vbg*

  14. Raine says:

That’s awesome news! Congrats on passing with perfect scores. πŸ˜€
A new Cassie and Nicky story?! Now I will really be camping in your blog waiting for the new story! *vbg*

  15. Basketball Girl says:

Congrats on a perfect score, though it does not surprise me πŸ™‚ I guess doing all the lessons and reading the book may pay off in the end, not that I’m going to adopt that philosophy. Nice job, you rock Alyx!

  16. cutey says:

Congrats Alyx. A perfect score is always reason to celebrate no matter if its open-book. Thank you for my fond swat. *bats eyes* Am I allowed to return the favor? *giggles*

  17. Irene says:

Congrats! And yay to the Cassie & Nicky story (any ETA?soon?very soon??)!

  18. bystander says:

    Congratulations on the exam πŸ™‚

  19. Ana says:

That’s wonderful, Alyx! Now you can enjoy a bit of down time.

  20. sandy1984 says:

Hi Alyx, many congratulations , it appears exam success is the ideal thing to get your arse in gear. Good luck with the next one…I can’t wait till you pass it!

  21. Pixie says:

*gentle nudge* Just wondering about the new story, no pressure or anything…only small foot stamp πŸ™‚

    • Alyx says:

*LOL* A small foot stamp, eh Pixie? πŸ˜€ Well, I am working on a Cassie and Nicky story, as promised. And hope to have it for Xmas. Hope I’m not making a mistake in committing myself….it’s still in the very early stages. 😦

      • Peach says:

Woo hoo, that means Nicky’s in trouble again!
Oops that didn’t come out right.lol. I’m only gleeful cause there’s gonna be a story!! *bg*
Btw, the promise will be kept right? You know sensei will not be please if not. πŸ˜‰ *vbeg*

  22. C. says:

    C’mooon. New story. Now! I demand it!…Kinda…I mean…. Jdksosuaiwlsj.

    • Ash says:

Me too! *stomping foot demanding* πŸ˜›

      • Alyx says:

What’s this?? Brat tantrums so close to Xmas?? *delivering whacks to both sets of naughty cheeks* *SWAT! SWAT! SWAT! SWAT* Behave yourselves, C and Ash! You wouldn’t want to be the only ones who don’t get to read the next story, do you? *stern look*

(I am working on it…but dang, Xmas is sure coming up fast! πŸ˜› )

        • Ash says:

Ow! *grumble* Aaallllyyyyx…. wanna read it too. *pout*

I want Christmas to come faster… sigh. I am sick of studying and exams, and test etc. I am this close to throwing chairs across the room singing “we don’t need no education!” πŸ˜€

          • Alyx says:

No one’s going to get to read it if I don’t get it done (are you crossing your fingers, brat?). Hope you’re doing well on your exams, Ash. At least when you’re in school you get a Xmas break. Once you’re at a job there is no Xmas break! Well….for most of us, that is. *thinking enviously of a certain brat*

          • Alyx says:

Jealous of your trip to London, Ash! But I’m sure you deserved it, with the hard work in school and your job on the side. Of course there are other things you deserve, but we won’t get into that. πŸ˜€

Peach, I did indeed find out what you’ve been doing with your time, and you deserve a switch in your Xmas stocking! *swat!*

Espy, it looks like I won’t have the new story finished by Xmas after all. *sigh* I’ll keep trying, but it may not be ready till New Year’s. Just so much Xmas (and job) craziness around here! But I haven’t given up hope yet, so keep holding your breath. *vbg*

Kayla, quit bragging about your winter break. *g* That’s the only good thing about school….those mini-vacations! πŸ™‚

            • Ash says:

I did deserve it! And yes, I’m sure I deserve a lot of other things to… but it’s christmas, we’re not gonna get into that. πŸ˜‰

            • Fizzy says:

That’s okay about the Cassie and Nicky story, Alyx, I know you’ve been working on it EVERY DAY so it’s going to be really good when it is done. We can wait a little longer for greatness. πŸ˜€

In the meantime…in case any newbies haven’t stumbled on them yet, Alyx’s series of Holiday Stories is def worth a read or reread. To see them grouped together, click on the “Stories” link at the top of the page instead of using the drop-down menu (right next to “Bug Alyx Here” and I KNOW everyone knows where that is!), and you’ll be on a page with all her story series in groups. Holiday Stories is on the right side toward the bottom of the page.

Happy Holidays to everyone! Hope Santa lost the naughty lists. πŸ˜†

            • Alyx says:

Aw, thank you, Fizzy-brat. *cuddle* I don’t know how good it will be, but I will definitely get it done. Thanks for your patience, everyone!

            • Kayla says:

Replying to everyone in one post makes it look like Santa’s naughty and nice list. *L* Yep that is the nice thing about school. The only problem is you’re using the breaks to recoup from the stress of dealing with parents and trying to regain all the patience you lost trying to mold young stubborn obnoxious minds. It’s nice to be lazy but it’s hard to not think about work. I’m putting up a good fight though. Hope your X-Mas was good.

            • Peach says:

              Owi, a switch? *gasps* Alyyyyyyyyyx!!!
Fortunately Santa is a sensible old man, he brought me a box of baklava. *vbg*

              • Kayla says:

Mmmmmm baklava is yummy and a much sweeter gift than a switch. Unless were talking the persona (not sure I used that right) “switch”. Would Alyx fit in your stocking? *g*

              • Alyx says:

Hah, that’s what I feel like…Santa Alyx. Okay, everyone, line up to get on my knee! Heheheh.

Mmmm, I haven’t had baklava in ages. That was a good one about the switch in your stocking, Kayla. *LOL* I didn’t even think about that! But now that you mention it, I’d love to have a certain sometimes top in my stocking. πŸ˜€
