So I cleaned for days (not full out, except for one day, but a little each day for a week), getting ready for TMT’s visit. Very thoroughly. Everything that could be dusted was dusted. Walls, ceilings, light fixtures and stuffed animals were all vacuumed. Window louvers and curtains washed. All the wood polished (including my dresser and a lovely handmade jewelry box with a special English lemon oil, which made them glow gently). The silver, gold, and brass was also polished with silver cleaner. All the mirrors shined. Overdue filing done and all the usual sweeping and mopping and new bedding one usually does for a guest. The same care was paid to the bathroom. I scrubbed every porcelain surface and bought a new shampoo rack for the shower.
And then last night I got spanked….for having dust in my car.
